First I made the background from the original HUD icons transparent. I modified some of the icons furthermore for better contrast and looks (because the background was removed/made transparent). Then most but not all icons were gamma corrected with Paint Shop Pro 5 (colors - adjust - gamma correction). Then the color palet from colormap.pcx was applied as a Jasc palette file (nearest color matching). Then the background was altered again to keep it transparent. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Installation : Copy into your quake2/baseq2 dir. Use any name from pak0.pak to pak9.pak. Therefor I decided to make my own HUD icons pak from scratch to cover these game modes/mods as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Other Work By Author : Modular Quake/QuakeWorld/Quake II/Quake III Arena configs site yet to come, somewhere in time 8). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tip concerning CTF : I recommend to place all your ThreeWave CTF media files (maps, skins, etc.) in your baseq2 dir, instead of the ctf dir. This allows other mods to directly load CTF out of the baseq2 directory instead of copying the CTF maps and paks to the mod's directory (eraser, gladiator, etc.). IMO it was a flaw of id Software to not have done this in the first place (It's now being done this way with Q3A).
